Founded in 1971, Catholic Charities of West Tennessee has been serving West Tennessee for over 50 years, providing services to those most in need in our community, with special emphasis in the areas of homelessness, veteran’s services and emergency services.
Following the teachings of Jesus Christ, we provide help to those in need and bring them hope by supporting them on the path from poverty to self-sufficency. CCWTN offers Emergency Services, Homeless Services, and Community Support Services for those in need regardless of regardless of race, ethnicity or religion.

Memphis, Shelby County, and West Tennessee face some of the most pressing challenges in the nation, with a poverty rate of 27.8%—one of the highest among large U.S. cities. Nearly half of the children in Memphis live in poverty, leaving them especially vulnerable and in need of support. Food insecurity affects 15% of residents, meaning thousands of families lack reliable access to nutritious meals. Additionally, 9% of Shelby County residents under age 65 live with a disability, creating significant barriers to self-sufficiency.
