Position Summary: The Parish Social Ministry (“PSM”) Coordinator will work with CE Director to serve as a liaison between Catholic Charities of West Tennessee and the parishes of the Catholic Diocese of West Tennessee and other related community partners in regards to volunteer engagement, programs and service, as well as, consultation and assistance in serving the needs of their respective communities.
A successful Parish Social Ministry Coordinator will be deadline, detail, and goal-oriented, have excellent rapport-building and relationship management skills, well-versed in catholic social teaching and passionate about serving others while furthering the mission and upholding the values of CCWTN.
Key Functions:
- Establish and manage relationships with the key appropriate staff members at parishes and other community partner organizations
- Assist parishes in identifying and responding to the needs of their communities and facilitate any planning and execution of appropriate ministries and services
- Assist CE Director with the administration and expansion of the C.A.R.E.S. program
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with local and regional faith –based and other community partners as it relates to PSM
- Work closely with the Volunteer Engagement team to create volunteer and service opportunities for the various parishes/organizations and engage their parishioners/members
- Administer the micro grant program
- Assist in developing and maintaining deadlines and budgets related to Parish Social Ministry
- Serve as a representative on various appropriate committees related to the work of parish social ministry and catholic social teaching
- Continuously seek ways to improve and enhance the PSM program and thereby the CCWTN programs/services offerings
- Assist in creating and executing long-term PSM goals and outcomes for existing and new PSM programs
- Assist in development of grant applications to support the PSM program
- Gather information and submit applicable grant reports in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 3 to 4 years of experience in nonprofit work and/or project management
- Bilingual (English/Español)
- Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching
- Excellent computer, verbal and written skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to manage projects and assignments in a timely manner
- Schedule may include occasional nights and weekends
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Requires valid unrestricted driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
